for guitar (2020)
A ridged piece of glass; this object, apparently alien (to what?) opens up different sound possibilities for the guitar in terms of timbre, articulations and durations.
The player’s hands explore the space between one ridge and another, revealing something that resembles a cluster of picks that plucks/strikes/shakes the strings.
Rasgueados flourish, nails and glass (picks?) merge into each other: the hand unfolds itself in order to show us the origin of the sought sound.
The limit of things must be sought in our initial approach to the things themselves. The guitar is what I want it to be.
